Nothing Phone 2(a) is all set to launch soon in India. Before the launch, the design of the Nothing Phone 2(a) was leaked and no glyph interface was visible. In an exclusive collaboration with renowned leaker @OnLeaks, Smartprix presents the first look at the highly anticipated Nothing Phone (2a). rear panel, following our December 2023 report on its key specifications. London-based tech startup Nothing has become synonymous with distinctive smartphone designs, particularly with semi-transparent back panels on the Phone (1) and Phone (2). However, the Phone (2a) will break with this tradition.
The back panel of the Nothing Phone (2a) features a radical redesign, deviating from the circular lines seen on its predecessors. In the upper left corner, two camera lenses protrude from the panel, accompanied by a significant circular element at the top. Notably absent is the iconic Glyph Interface that has become a trademark of previous Nothing models. Initial renders hinted at LED lights on the rear panel, but it appears they may have been based on pre-production samples.
Despite maintaining company branding and CE certification details on the left and right edges respectively, the absence of Glyph Interface suggests a departure from the established design language. This move could be an intentional effort to distinguish the mid-range phone (2a) from its flagship counterparts, emphasizing a unique identity for the more affordable ‘a’ series.
While the Telephone (2a) retains some elements of Nothing’s master design language, it introduces notable differences, challenging the expectations set by its predecessors. The decision to forgo the Glyph interface, a defining feature of Nothing’s smartphones, raises questions about the company’s strategic options for its upcoming mid-range offering.
In a leak early last December, Smartprix provided an exclusive look at the wallpapers of the Nothing Phone (2a), further fueling anticipation for this distinctive addition to the smartphone market.
