Former Indian cricket team player Murali Kartik faced a lot of criticism on social media for his on-air comments about Royal Challengers Bengaluru pacer Yash Dayal during the IPL 2024 match against Punjab Kings on Monday. Dayal ended up conceding five sixes in five balls against Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL, an unwanted feat that had an immense impact on the young cricketer. However, RCB picked him for Rs 5 crore in the IPL 2024 auction and while talking about the move, Kartik said, “Someone’s trash is someone’s treasure.” The comment was not received positively by many social media users.

“How do you say someone’s trash is someone’s treasure? You just called Yash Dayal Trash on air! Like what?,” comedian and TV host Danish Sait posted on X (formerly Twitter).

Royal Challengers Bangalore took to social media to give a befitting reply to Kartik for his on-air comment.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli surpassed Suresh Raina to become the Indian player with the most catches in the men’s T20 format.

Kohli achieved the record during the clash between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS).

The 35-year-old took catches from PBKS batsmen Jonny Bairstow and Shikhar Dhawan to complete his 174th in the T20 format.

He surpassed former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina who has 172 catches to his name. India captain Rohit Sharma is at third place with 167 catches in his kitty. India batsmen Manish Pandey and Suryakumar Yadav are at fourth and fifth place with 146 and 136 catches respectively.

Overall, in T20 international cricket, former West Indies cricketer Kieron Pollard is on top with 362 catches to his name.
