Panorama:

The Washington Warriors are coming off a 2023 season in which they captured their second consecutive 3A state title. The Warriors lost some key names in Class 23 like Camden Bates and Kane Springer, but they still appear to be one of the dominant teams in the 3A division. Washington has to be one of the favorites to win its third consecutive title as it did in recent years, with the bats. The Warriors have high-level prospects and multi-sport talent contributing to that mix as well. With a strong average run differential of 7.54 runs per game in 2023, they have proven in recent years to be one of the best programs in the state regardless of class and are the favorites in 3A heading into the 2024 campaign.

Impact players:

Dax McCaskill, 2024, INF/OF, Houston Commit

The do-it-all prospect closed his commitment to Houston in the fall after a breakout junior season. McCaskill has an impressive combination of power and speed, hitting an exit velocity of 102.8 and posting a time of 6.63 sixties. McCaskill has the ability to play anywhere on the field, including the corners of the infield, and can also spend time in the outfield. His name has begun to generate buzz among MLB scouts in recent weeks, and with his production with the bat, he is also on our list for potential Player of the Year honors.

Marlon Moore, 2024, INF, Cowley Commitment

Moore has been the everyday 2B most of his high school career behind one of the state’s best defenders, but he finally looks to move to the SS spot for his senior campaign. The fast twitch athlete uses a smooth RH swing as a high contact threat while also showing some power potential. Moore is one of the class’ best defenders in the middle, as he will have the opportunity to do so at the SS position in his final season at HS. Moore will also contribute on the Warriors’ mound as a strikeout pitcher in the mid-80s and has proven to miss bats at a high level.

Players to watch:

Tristan Babbit, 2024, LHP, Seminole commitment

Nate Roberts, 2025, 3B/RHP, uncommitted
