Pedro Pascal shares the “psychotic” way he learns his lines

Pedro Pascal shares his insight on how he learns scripts and has a unique way of doing it.

At a recent SAG-AFTRA Foundation roundtable with SAG Awards nominees for Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series, Pascal talked about this method for learning his lines.

“I bet I could show you a psychotic physical example of what I have to do now to learn my lines,” Pascal said in the video call that also featured Billy Crudup, Matthew Macfadyen and Kieran Culkin. “This is like the psychotic first letter of every word. You see the letters, right? “Basically, I’m the Unabomber.”

He continued: “I guess you use the first letter of each one in these towers or columns, and it’s a very, very tedious way to learn the line so you don’t have to make decisions. “It’s not even an artistic thing, it’s just a really technical form that I had to acquire because of that terrible experience of forgetting my lines.”

Pascal will apparently continue to use this method to learn his lines for The Fantastic Four, the Marvel movie that was recently confirmed to star Mister Fantastic as Reed Richards. The actor will also share the screen with Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn and Ebon Moss-Bachrach.

In addition to the superhero film, Pascal will soon appear in the second season of The last of us and the Gladiator continuation.
