Lance Reddick received a kind farewell from the Percy Jackson and the Olympians equipment.

The actor, who plays Zeus in the Disney+ series, died suddenly in March, shortly after production of Percy Jackson wrapped.

In the Season 1 finale, Reddick has an extensive scene with series protagonist Walker Scobell, as Percy confronts Zeus atop Mount Olympus. It was one of his last on-screen roles.

After the episode, there is a title card that says, “In memory of Lance Reddick.”

See the title card below.

After Reddick’s death, Riordan wrote a tribute to the actor on his blog, where he frequently communicates with his fans. He described Reddick as a “vibrant, kind and talented” man.

“His seriousness and regal bearing made him perfect for the king of the gods, but from what I could see, in person he looked nothing like the windy and distant god of the sky. He had a wonderful, quirky sense of humor. He was thoughtful, caring and tremendously insightful,” Riordan wrote.

The author also promised that Reddick’s scenes would “remind us how much brilliance we have lost.”

Zeus has a presence in all five of Rick Riordan’s episodes. Percy Jackson and the Olympians novels. It’s unclear how the team decided to move forward with the character beyond Season 1.

The end of Percy Jackson and the Olympians now streaming on Disney+.
