Days after Poonam Pandey faked her own death, the actress took to her social media to write a cryptic post. Now, following the same, she made shocking accusations. The actress claimed that interested parties associated with the fake death stunt sent legal notices to her team. On her Instagram account, she wrote, “Now that I said the truth will be revealed, the interested parties have chills.” And she sent us a legal notice. For the uninformed, the news of Poonam Pandey’s ‘death’ was announced in a post shared on her official Instagram account on February 2. “This morning is difficult for us. Deeply saddened to inform you that we have lost our beloved Poonam to cervical cancer. Every life form that ever came into contact with her was met with pure love and kindness. In this time of grief, we would request privacy from her as we remember her fondly for all we shared,” the post read.
However, a day later, the actress came out through a video statement and revealed that she was alive. She maintained that the reason for the news of her death was to raise awareness about cervical cancer. It didn’t go down well with everyone and several celebrities, including Kangana Ranaut and Karan Kundrra, among others, lashed out at the actress.
Later, the Film Workers Association of India also demanded an FIR against the actress-model stating that her actions were “very wrong” and “unacceptable”. The film body demanded legal action not only against Poonam but also against her manager. They condemned the publicity stunt and argued that “no one in the film industry reaches such levels.”
It is also reported that a Rs 100 crore defamation case has been filed against the actress and her ex-husband Sam Bombay. As reported by Pinkvilla, the case has been filed by Faizan Ansari. She accused Poonam Pandey of “trivializing the seriousness of cancer and manipulating the emotions and trust of millions” by faking her own death. She has also reportedly urged authorities to arrest Pandey and her ex-husband.
Ansari also lodged an FIR with the Kanpur police commissioner. “Poonam Pandey and her husband Sam Bombay conspired to stage her death, making fun of a serious illness like cancer. Poonam Pandey orchestrated this stunt for her personal publicity, betraying the trust of millions of Indians and the entire Bollywood industry,” the FIR said.
