Preity Zinta took a trip back in time and remembered his experience on the set of the iconic film Dil Se. In her recent tweet, Preity shared a picture from the first day of shooting and revealed an interesting anecdote about her meeting the director. Mani Ratnam.
She remembered having fun with peanut Ratnam after he asked her to wash her face when he saw her. At first, she thought it was a joke since she would remove her makeup. However, when the director smiled back at her, she realized that he was serious about her request.
He then credited the film’s cinematographer, Santosh Sivan, for making sure to film with a freshly washed face, which allowed him to “get away with it.”

When Preity G Zinta shared her thoughts on her role in the 2003 Bharat Shah case: ‘It was a terrifying moment in my life’

“This photo was taken on the first day on the set of Dil Se. I was very excited to work with Mani Ratnam sir and Shahrukh Khan. When Mani sir saw me, he smiled and politely asked me to wash my face…. But sir… my makeup will fall off, I said smiling… That’s exactly what I want… Please wash your face… He smiled back. I thought he was joking… Then I realized no!!! So, thanks to the amazing Santosh Sivan (our cinematographer), I shot with a freshly washed face and got away with it 🎥🤩🙏 I guess Dil Se shot me ❤️ #throwbackthursday #Dilse #Memories #Ting,” reads his tweet.
