It has been reported that Prince Harry learned of Kate Middleton’s cancer diagnosis on television. “It is understood that Kate’s cancer diagnosis was not shared beforehand with Harry and Meghan (Markle),” The Times UK reported, adding that “several sources” confirmed it. Harry found out about the diagnosis at the same time as the public.
Harry and his wife Meghan Markle issued a brief statement after finding out about Kate. “We wish health and healing for Kate and her family, and hope they can do so privately and peacefully,” the Duke and Duchess of Sussex said.
Previously, the New York Post reported that Harry and Meghan were “blindsided” by the news about the Princess of Wales’s cancer. “They had no idea and found out the news around the same time the rest of the world found out,” a source said. “This shows the irreparable damage they have caused. Trust has been broken and the royal family is fine distancing itself from them.”

The princess spoke to the public about her illness in a two-minute, twenty-two-second video announcement that Kensington Palace released on March 22 after she did not appear in public for several days. Dressed in a striped jumper and jeans, and sitting on a garden bench, Kate said: “In January, I had major abdominal surgery in London and at the time my condition was thought to be non-cancerous. The surgery was successful.”
“However, tests carried out after the operation revealed that there was cancer. Therefore, my medical team recommended that I undergo preventive chemotherapy treatment and I am now in the early stages of that treatment,” he added.
Admitting that the initial diagnosis “came a huge shock,” she said, “William and I have been doing our best to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family.”
