Prince William and Prince Harry are preparing for a meeting while thousands of miles away from each other. At the center of this gathering are the Diana Legacy Awards, a unique tribute to her mother, Princess Diana, which will take place on the evening of March 14 (local time) at the Science Museum in London.

The awards, started in 2017, mark two decades since the princess’s death in an accident. The honor celebrates young people, ages nine to 25, who have made significant contributions to improving the lives of others.

Prince William will grace the ceremony in person, where he will deliver a speech. Meanwhile, his brother Harry will connect with attendees from his home in California, ensuring his virtual presence. Last year, they chose not to mention each other in their individual video messages for the event.

Harry, however, mentioned his brother while speaking at the 2021 event.

“William and I celebrated Mom’s 60th birthday. Each of us has the ability to help create a more equitable world. And the brilliant awardees we honor today are proof of that,” The Mirror quoted.

Diana Legacy Awards

This special award occurs every two years. Honors 20 young leaders from around the world. These leaders are considered exceptional because they inspire others and help their communities, just as Princess Diana did. To qualify for the 2023 Legacy Award, it is necessary to earn a Diana Award between 2022 and 2023.

Aditya Dubey was one of the award winners in 2021. The Delhi-based environmental activist started ‘Planting a Million Trees’ after falling ill from bad air. He started by planting some trees and posting photos online. He received the award after having planted more than 180,000 trees under the project.
