Qualcomm has unveiled the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3, positioning it as the chipmaker’s most sophisticated mid-range chipset to date. This latest addition to the Snapdragon 7 series lineup features support for on-device generative AI models such as Llama 2, Gemini Nano, and Baichuan-7B, offering up to 15 percent improved CPU and GPU performance and 45 percent, respectively. compared to its predecessors. Smartphone makers like OnePlus, Realme, and Sharp will soon launch smartphones powered by the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 (SM7675-AB) chipset. Qualcomm further announced on Thursday that the first smartphone to feature Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 is expected to debut in the next two months. However, the company is yet to reveal specific details regarding the market availability of these smartphones.
Qualcomm provided details on the new Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3, which includes an Arm Cortex-X4 ‘main’ core running at 2.8 GHz, four ‘performance’ cores clocked at 2.6 GHz, and three ‘efficiency’ cores. ‘ which reach a maximum speed of 1.9 GHz. This chipset supports up to 24 GB of LPDDR5x memory at speeds up to 4200 MHz, as well as UFS 4.0 storage and USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C connectivity.

Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 is the inaugural chip in the series that features triple 18-bit image signal processors (ISPs), making it easier for smartphone cameras to capture images up to 200 megapixels. It enables HDR video capture at 4K/60fps and offers support for Snapdragon Low Light Vision (LLV) technology, improving video quality in low-light environments.
In terms of connectivity, Qualcomm’s latest chip features the Snapdragon X63 5G Modem-RF system, which offers a maximum download speed of up to 4.2 Gbps. This modem supports 5G mmWave and Sub-6 networks, with Dual-Sim Dual Active (DSDA) functionality for 5G and 4G networks.
Additionally, it is the first Snapdragon 7-series chip to provide support for Wi-Fi 7 networks, with high-band simultaneous multilink (HBS) technology. Additionally, Qualcomm’s FastConnect 7800 mobile connectivity system claims to offer download speeds of up to 5.8 Gbps. The chip also supports Qualcomm’s latest Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity, LE audio, Snapdragon Sound, and aptX audio codecs, according to Qualcomm’s statements.
