Queen Camilla visited King Charles in hospital, a day after he underwent treatment for an enlarged prostate.
The King was admitted to the private London Clinic hospital, near Regent’s Park,Friday morning and is said to be doing well after the procedure.
It is not known how long it will remain there but it is expected to be at least until the end of this weekend..
Before the procedure, he visited the Princess of Wales, who had abdominal surgery at the same hospital.last week.
Catherine’s own treatment was successful.Kensington Palace has said, but he is not expected to resume royal duties for months.
It is also understood that he will remain at the London Clinic over the weekend.
The Queen’s visit to her husband on Saturday afternoon is reported to have lasted around three hours.
The plan for the King, 75, to undergo the “corrective procedure” was revealed by the Palace last week. He traveled from Sandringham to London on Thursday to undergo the operation.
An enlarged prostate is a benign, non-cancerous problem common in older men, according to the NHS, and around one in three men over 50 have some symptoms.
Medical treatment is not important enough to require constitutional changes to the King’s role as head of state. There will be no need for “state councillors” who can replace a monarch when he is seriously ill.
The Palace said the reason the King made his diagnosis public was to send a message to other men to have their prostate checked and following the disclosure the NHS website saw a Increase in searches for prostate enlargement.an interest welcomed by doctors and charities.
A Buckingham Palace spokesperson said the King was “delighted to know that his diagnosis is having a positive impact on public health awareness” and added that he wanted to “thank all those who have sent their good wishes”.
Queen Camilla accompanied him to Marylebone hospital in central London on Friday.
Before leaving, she told people at the hospital that her husband was “fine, thank you.”
The Queen returned later on Friday night for a visit that lasted about 90 minutes.
