Randeep Hooda spoke about working with Aishwarya Rai in Sarabjit. He revealed that he couldn’t build a close bond with her on her sets.

Randeep Hooda opened up about Aishwarya Rai in a new interview and confessed that he didn’t get a chance to bond on the sets of Sarbjit. The actor, who will be seen in Swatantra Veer Savarkar this weekend, was reviewing his critically acclaimed film when he spoke about Aishwarya. He revealed that due to the limited scenes he shared with her in the film, they were not able to spend many days together. However, he praised her for her work on the sets.

“She was great, very courteous, does her job well. She is there, she is very sincere. Although we didn’t have many interactions on set because a lot of my scenes were away from her, every time we did it, she was everything she seemed to be,” Randeep said while speaking to Humans of Bombay. He added: “They did everything they could to make her look real, but she’s so unreal.”

Randeep explained that he formed a close bond with Sarabjit’s sister because of Aishwarya. “While making the film, more than Aishwarya, I formed a great bond with Sarabjit’s sister. She already passed away and her wish was for me to come and light her funeral pyre, which I did. I wish I had more time with her, she was a great lady and really took care of Sarabjit’s children. They are all well established, I am in contact with them. That movie had a real-life impact,” she said.

Meanwhile, Randeep Hooda will be seen essaying another real-life persona this weekend. The actor will play the role of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, the Hindu nationalist better known as Veer Savarkar, in his biopic titled Swatantrya Veer Savarkar. The actor also makes his directorial debut with the film. The film opens in theaters on March 22.
