RCB vs LSG: Memes steal the show as Faf du Plessis’ men suffer second consecutive defeat in IPL 2024.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) stumbled once again in IPL 2024, facing their second consecutive defeat as Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) cruised to a 28-run win against the struggling hosts. With this defeat marking RCB’s third setback in four games, they find themselves entrenched in ninth place in the IPL points table.

Despite the advantage of winning the toss at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, a venue known to favor chasing teams, RCB’s decision to bowl first did not produce the desired results. Quinton de Kock’s towering 82 and Nicholas Pooran’s explosive 42 propelled LSG to a formidable total of 181 for 5 in 20 overs. In response, RCB faltered and were bowled out for 153 in 19.4 overs.

As RCB clung to their less-than-ideal position in the points table, fans had to deal with another disappointing performance. Naturally, social media platforms were abuzz with jokes and memes, as RCB’s recurring struggles sparked a flurry of humor and commentary.

Have a look:

Meanwhile, even though RCB players commendably prevented LSG from crossing the 200-run mark, their batting line-up faltered. Virat Kohli, du Plessis and Rajat Patidar showed promise in the top order but failed to convert their starts into substantial innings. While Mahipal Lomror’s valiant 33 offered a ray of hope, it proved insufficient as other batsmen failed to rise to the occasion.

On the contrary, Mayank Yadav once again emerged as LSG’s shining star, surpassing his own record for the league’s fastest delivery with a blistering speed of 156.7 km/h. Yadav’s impressive bowling figures of 3 for 14 in four overs played a pivotal role in LSG’s rise from sixth to fourth position in the points table. Now, with an eye on the upcoming clash against KL Rahul-led Gujarat Titans (GT) on April 7, LSG aims to maintain its newfound momentum.
