Bayern Munich have finally brought an end to the Thomas Tuchel era and are now reportedly pulling out all the stops to land their preferred successor.
That successor, of course, is none other than Xabi Alonso. The former Bayern star is coaching Leverkusen so far in an invincible season and Die Werkself They are on their way to winning the Bundesliga trophy. And Alonso’s connection with Bayern runs deep.

Xabi Alonso is the preferred candidate for the Bayern bosses, especially Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, with whom he always kept in touch after Alonso’s retirement in 2017. Leverkusen, of course, are still juggling a three-pronged campaign, so it makes sense for Alonso to keep his focus on his current team even as rumors circulate about his future, or else the treble would be in jeopardy.
However, the 42-year-old is said to be open to a move from Bayern, however difficult that may be to achieve at the moment, even amid interest from Liverpool F.C..
