Rosamund Pike joined Margot Robbie and Phoebe Dynevor leading the stars at the EE BAFTA Film Awards nominees party at the National Gallery in London on Saturday, 24 hours before the much-anticipated ceremony.
Rosamund, 45, from Saltburn, was the epitome of glamor as she hit the red carpet in a dusty pink semi-sheer floral dress that revealed her lingerie underneath.
The actress completed the look with spectacular black leather opera gloves and a matching belt which she used to cinched her tiny waist.
Rosamund, who is expected to win the BAFTA for Best Actress on Sunday, posed up a storm and added extra height to her frame in a pair of black lace heels.
Meanwhile, Margot, 33, put on a leggy display in a sleek black minidress worn under a black trench coat.
The Barbie star flaunted her toned legs in the look and slipped her feet into a pair of open-toe heels while carrying her evening essentials in a Chanel mini bag.
Elsewhere, Rising Star Award nominee Phoebe, 28, also opted for a glamorous black minidress that featured a gold jeweled neckline that dazzled under the lights.
Slipping her pins into dark tights, she brought the sparkles of the dress to her accessories with a pair of large, statement-making earrings.
Attendees braved the downpour and were given umbrellas as they made their way from their chauffeured cars towards the iconic London building.
It looks like Oppenheimer will sweep the EE BAFTA Film Awards 2024 after receiving 13 nominations.
Christopher Nolan’s epic biopic about atomic bomb creator J. Robert Oppenheimer dominated the major categories when nominations were announced Thursday, with nominations for Best Picture and Nolan for Best Director.
By comparison, Oppenheimer’s box office rival Barbie received just five nominations and was notably snubbed in the Best Picture category.
Cillian Murphy, 47, received his first BAFTA nomination for his performance as lead character Oppenheimer and will go head to head with fellow Irishman Barry Keoghan, 31, for Saltburn in the Best Actor category.
Oppenheimer got to see Nolan get his first directing BAFTA.
He faces competition from All Of Us Strangers director Andrew Haigh, Anatomy Of A Fall’s Justine Triet, The Holdovers’ Alexander Payne, Maestro’s Cooper and Jonathan Glazer for The Zone Of Interest.
Notably absent from the category is Barbie director Greta Gerwig, while the film, which was the highest-grossing film of 2023, was also snubbed for Best Picture.
Under the new rules, the long list of directors had the same number of male and female filmmakers, but there is only one woman among the six best director nominees: Triet.
Gerwig, however, is recognized in the Original Screenplay category alongside her husband and co-writer Noah Baumbach.
Barbie star Margot Robbie is nominated for Best Actress and will compete in a category that notably excludes Killers of the Flower Moon’s Lily Gladstone, despite her awards season success so far. Scorsese’s epic received nine nominations in total.
The remaining Best Actress nominees face Poor Things’ Emma Stone, Maestro’s Carey Mulligan, Anatomy Of A Fall’s Sandra Huller, The Color Purple’s Fantasia Barrino and Rye Lane’s Vivian Oparah.
German actress Huller is also nominated in a second category and will compete as supporting actress for The Zone Of Interest, alongside Oppenheimer’s Blunt, Saltburn’s Rosamund Pike, The Holdovers’ Da’Vine Joy Randolph, The Color Purple’s Danielle Brooks and All Of. Claire Foy from We Strangers.
Oppenheimer’s Downey Jr. hopes to continue his winning streak after being nominated in the Supporting Actor category. He has already won a Golden Globe and a Critics Choice Award for his portrayal of Lewis Strauss, the chairman of the Atomic Energy Commission.
However, he faces stiff competition from first-time BAFTA nominee Jacob Elordi for Saltburn, Robert De Niro for Killers Of The Flower Moon, Ryan Gosling for Barbie, Paul Mescal for All Of Us Strangers and Dominic Sessa for The Holdovers .
Barbie has been nominated for Original Screenplay and faces competition from Anatomy of a Fall, The Holdovers, Maestro and Past Lives.
In the Adapted Screenplay category, All of Us Strangers, American Fiction, Oppenheimer, Poor Things and The Zone of Interest compete.
The contenders for Best British Film are All Of Us Strangers, How To Have Sex, Napoleon, The Old Oak, Poor Things, Rye Lane, Saltburn, Scrapper, Wonka and The Zone Of Interest.
In the animated film category, Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget competes against The Boy and the Heron, Elemental and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.
It was previously announced that the BAFTA scholarship, the film academy’s highest honor, will be awarded to actress Samantha Morton.
