Telugu actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu has come under scrutiny for allegedly ‘misleading’ her 33 million Instagram followers about ‘liver detoxification’. Earlier this week, a liver doctor criticized Samantha for featuring “some random health illiterates” on her health podcast series. The doctor, who goes by the name The Liver Doc on medicine.

The doctor shared a video clip from Samantha’s podcast on her YouTube channel in which her guest talked about the importance of herbs like dandelion to improve liver health and wrote: “This is Samantha Ruth Prabhu, a star of cinema, which deceives and misinforms more than 33 million followers. about ‘detoxifying the liver’.”

The doctor continued: “The podcast features a health illiterate “Wellness Coach and Performance Nutritionist” who has absolutely no idea how the human body works and has the most junk content on his Instagram account, including Complete nonsense like herbs to manage autoimmune disorders. I’m not sure how people with large followings very easily find out who the worst non-scientific people are and invite them to talk about science, medicine and health on “health podcasts” that actually have nothing to do with health or medicine. They are just two illiterate scientists who share their ignorance. The wellness coach is not even a real doctor and probably has no idea about the functions of the liver.”

He further said: “I am a liver doctor, a trained and registered hepatologist who has been diagnosing and treating patients with liver diseases for a decade and this is complete and utter nonsense (nonsense).”

Samantha Ruth Prabhu had taken a break from acting last year after she was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease, myositis. She was last seen in Kushi opposite Vijay Deverakonda. Recently, the actress spoke about her decision to not work for a year.

She told Femina in an interview: “It was the best decision because there was no way I would have been able to continue working. The stress of work, added to the condition, is not the easiest thing to handle. I’m very glad I gave myself time to recover; “I had been working straight for 13 years.”

“I’ve had my fair share of self-loathing and very little confidence, but I’ve always strived to grow as a person. With that growth came a deeper understanding of my insecurities and self-loathing. “I was able to heal myself by addressing them, not by trying to fix them from the outside, but by fixing the internal trauma that needed more healing than any external quick fix,” he said.
