Season-Best Total Leads to Cardinal’s First Win of 2024

STANFORD, California – Led by the team’s best score of the season, Stanford women’s gymnastics secured its first victory of the 2024 season on Monday by topping Washington 196.875-196.500 inside Maples Pavilion.

The Cardinal’s victory was guided by strong performances from its freshmen, including the debuts of the freshmen. Victoria Cluck and Sienna Robinson in vault and beam, respectively. Stanford started the night on vault, earning a team score of 48.975 led by Dean’s 9.825 in first place. It was then on bars where the Cardinal scored her third consecutive team score of 49.250 or better on the event. Monday’s 49.350 performance, the best overall event on the night’s program, was led by Gutierrez’s career-best performance and a fifth-year 9.900. Neault added a 9.825 to round out the Cardinal’s scoring efforts.

The Cardinal finished their night on the floor, totaling their season-best team score of 49.325, even sending only five gymnasts to compete. Zeng’s floor title-winning performance of 9.900 paced the lineup, while Neault (season-best effort) and the sophomore added scores of 9.875. Taralyn Nguyen.
