Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has come under fire for a comment directed at the South superstar Ram Charanin it Anant Ambani and Radhika Trader pre-wedding celebration.
The three Khans of Bollywood: Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Aamir Khan – made headlines over the weekend when they got together to put on a little dance show on stage during the extravagant celebrations. As part of their act, the men chose to dance to the tunes of ‘Naatu Naatu’, the lively Oscar-winning Telugu song from ‘RRR’. However, when the trio couldn’t seem to pull off the iconic hook step, they called the film’s lead, Ram Charan, on stage to help them.
Makeup artist Zeba Hassan sparked controversy when she took to her social media account and alleged disrespect towards Charan and shared a clip of the same, providing context to her outburst. In her stories, she posted the clip in which Shah Rukh took the microphone and playfully called Ram on stage. However, the actor apparently imitated the Tamil or Telugu language as he spoke gibberish and could be heard saying “Idli”.

This action, considered disrespectful by Hassan, prompted her to leave the event. “I left after this. It was disrespectful to a star like @alwaysramcharan,” she wrote.

She commented on the video, “I am a big fan of SRK but I really didn’t like the way he called Ram Charan on stage.”
The post soon sparked outrage among fans who criticized SRK saying, “I am a fan of srk and I am shocked by her comments. Good for her for criticizing him. I hope she doesn’t get hate from her fans.”

Another said: “You don’t have to be from the south to find it offensive. It’s 2024 and there’s no excuse to say all this.”
“Not only is it disrespectful towards a movie star but also towards all South Indians. It propagates certain ridiculous stereotypes and people think it’s okay to do this,” asked another.
“Man, for all the wit and chivalry SRK is praised for, I can’t believe he said this. I’m not from the South, but I totally understand the reaction he’s getting for this. Nasty of him,” said another.

However, the Bollywood star’s fans soon came to his defense and claimed that he was mouthing a dialogue from his film ‘One 2 Ka 4’. In the film, she starred alongside the actor. Jackie Shroff. “SRK used a dialogue from his own film to invite Ram Charan on stage,” commented a fan and shared a clip from the film.
The incident occurred during the second day of the pre-wedding celebrations.
