Shahid Kapoor has come a long way in showbiz. With commercial films and rich content, the actor continues to enjoy a large fan following. He had once made a shocking revelation. The ‘Jab We Met’ actor shared that he had rejected the 2006 hit film ‘Rang De Basanti’ and that he regrets it.

During an appearance on Neha Dhupia’s talk show BFFs With Vogue, the actor revealed why he had turned down Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s 2006 film Rang De Basanti. Expressing his regret, he shared that he was offered the role of Karan Singhania, which was eventually played by Siddharth. He had to withdraw from the film due to his other commitments.

Shahid shared, “I regret not doing the film. They wanted me to play the role of Siddharth. “I cried while reading the script and I loved it, but unfortunately I couldn’t find time for it.”

Meanwhile, on the work front, Shahid Kapoor is currently enjoying the success of Teri Baaton Mein Uljha Jiya with Kriti Sanon. After registering a decent start at the box office, Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon starrer Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya has crossed Rs 50 crore at the box office.

Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya is a romantic drama that revolves around Shahid, who introduces Kriti to his family, unaware that the woman he has fallen in love with is a robot. The film also has a cameo by Janhvi Kapoor.

Recently, Kriti spoke about whether the film will have a second part. On microblogging site The actress replied, “With all the love showered, I’m sure Amit and Aradhana (writers and directors) are forced to write Part 2 soon! ❤️.”

Directed by debutant directors Amit Joshi and Aradhana Sah, the film has a run time of 143.15 minutes, or 2 hours, 23 minutes and 15 seconds. It was awarded U/A certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).
