She broke up with her boyfriend after Christian Bale’s dream

Billie Eilish is revealing the dream she had years ago that made her realize she needed to break up with her boyfriend at the time.

The Grammy-winning singer and her brother Finneas O’Connell were chatting with Amelia Dimoldenberg on Friday for a pre-Oscar nominees luncheon when Eilish opened up about the memorable dream.

After Dimoldenberg asked the musical duo if they wrote their 2016 hit song “Ocean Eyes” about Cillian Murphy, they both jokingly agreed that they “probably” did. O’Connell added: “I probably wrote it about Cillian, yeah. Big fan of Cillian’s eyes on Dunkirk.”

But Eilish quickly added, “Batman is the one, though.” Dimoldenberg followed up with, “Is that your favorite superhero?” to which the “Bad Guy” singer responded: “Yes? I don’t really know much about superheroes,” but she did like the 2008 one. The dark knight specifically.

That led the singer to share that she needed to “be real” for a moment.

“A couple of years ago I dreamed about Christian Bale and I was in a little cafe in the sunlight, and it made me realize that I had to break up with my boyfriend at that time,” she revealed. O’Connell laughed while Dimoldenberg gaped in shock at Eilish’s comment.

“Actually no. I woke up (cue her pretending to open her eyes) and came to my senses,” she said. Happier than ever the singer joked. “It’s over.”

Although Eilish didn’t mention which boyfriend she was referring to, she was recently linked to The Neighborhood’s lead singer Jesse Rutherford, but reportedly broke last year.

Eilish and O’Connell are nominated for Best Original Song at the 96th Academy Awards for “What Was I Made For?” from the Barbie soundtrack. They will also perform at the ceremony on March 10.
