Samantha Ruth Prabhu has made a shocking revelation about her myositis diagnosis. Speaking at the India Today Conclave 2024, she revealed that she was “forced” to make her diagnosis public. In 2022, Samantha left her fans in shock with her revelation about her condition. Later, the actress took a break from films and was later named the brand ambassador of Myositis India. At a conference, Samantha spoke about her decision to reveal her illness to the world. She said: ‘I was forced to go public with my disorder. At that time, I was planning to release my women-centric film. I was very sick at that time. It was difficult and I was not prepared. There was all kinds of speculation and misinformation was spread. The producers needed me to promote it; otherwise the film would simply die. So I agreed to do an interview. Obviously I didn’t look the same. I received high doses of medications to keep me stable. I was forced to do it. If I had the choice, I wouldn’t have come out to announce it. The public called me the queen of sympathy. Myositis is a rare and often misunderstood autoimmune disease that affects the muscles. The body’s immune system mistakenly attacks and damages muscle tissues, causing muscle weakness, pain and fatigue. Early diagnosis and appropriate medical treatment can help control myositis.
