Sister Wives’ Garrison Brown Dead at 25

Janelle confirmed the news on instagram Tuesday, writing: “Kody and I are deeply saddened to announce the loss of our beautiful boy Robert Garrison Brown. He was a bright spot in the lives of all who knew him. His loss will leave a void so big in our lives that it will take our breath away.. We ask that you respect our privacy and join us in honoring her memory.” (Kody also posted the same statement on your own Instagram page.)

Lt. Charles M. Hernandez II of the Flagstaff Police Department confirmed to PEOPLE: “On 03/05/2024, Flagstaff Police Officers responded to a report of a death inside a home.” The FPD confirmed that Garrison’s brother Gabriel22 years old, “discovered Mr. Brown deceased” in an apparent suicide.

Lieutenant Hernandez’s statement continued: “At this time there is no indication of foul play and detectives from the Criminal Investigation Division are investigating.”

TLC issued this statement to PEOPLE: “We are devastated to learn of the tragic loss of Garrison Brown. We extend our deepest sympathies and sympathies to the Brown family at this difficult time.”

Fans first met Garrison in 2010 along with his several siblings, his mother Janelle, and his father Kody’s other wives. meri, christina and Robyn Brown — in the TLC series that documents the daily life of the polygamous family.

After Janelle spiritually married Kody in 1993, the couple went on to have six children: Madison, Logan, Garrison, Gabriel, Hunter and Savanah. In December 2022, Janelle announced that she and Kody had pulled apart.

She was the second Brown family matriarch to leave after Christine announced that she had left Kody.. Shortly after Janelle’s announcement, Meri revealed that she and Kody had also separate pathsleaving Robyn as the Brown patriarch’s only remaining wife.

Over the years, Kody’s relationship with his children has become rocky, particularly “at odds” with Kody after expressing his “discontent” with the way he had handled the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I found myself alone with a wall,” Gabriel shared at the time. “And there was no line of dialogue. I think that’s what really drove the wedge between us.”

In a later confessional interview, Janelle expressed concern about her children’s strained relationship with their father. “I have worried about my children’s mental health. Gabriel feels everything very, very deeply. But he’s also the kid who doesn’t say anything,” she said before adding that Garrison “just seems angry or sadder, like he’s not as carefree as he used to be.”

Kody also acknowledged the rift that had formed between him and his children in an episode that aired in May 2023.

“I haven’t been in contact with Gabriel and Garrison in quite some time,” he shared at the time. “I’m quite sad because I’m not around [to them] not anymore. “There were so many things in our lives that we did that were enriching together, you know, just special experiences.”

He added: “I think and hope that in time we will get through this and be sure to get back together. Right now, there’s not really an open door with Gabe and Garrison. That’s who they are.” “You’re not willing to hire me.”
