MINNEAPOLIS – A performer was injured during a Disney on Ice performance at Target Center on Saturday, authorities confirm.

According to a press release, a skater performing as Bella was injured during a lift and fell to the ice. She was taken to a local hospital.

Hennepin County Medical Center officials confirmed that the artist was in the hospital in critical but stable condition Saturday night.

In a statement, Disney on Ice said it “appreciates the well wishes from our fans as our team member recovers.”

A spokesperson confirmed that the injured performer is not a local Minnesota skater who is in the production.

“This happened about 40 minutes into the show,” said Beka, who brought her two children to the morning show. “They were doing a lift, it looked shaky, and she fell. I’m beyond grateful for the rest of the staff and performers who kept going because that preserves the magic for the kids. I know it must have been really hard.”

Christina says the team quickly got to the skater when she fell. Tonight, she’s thinking about those artists.

“Our hearts go out to them,” he said. “We just hope he’s okay and recovers.”

The show is scheduled to take place February 9-11 in Minneapolis.
