Snoop Dogg has nothing but kind things to say about Donald Trump these days.

The “Gin and Juice” rapper appears to have changed his mind toward the former US president, according to a interview with the Sunday Times in London.

“He hasn’t done anything wrong to me. He’s just done great things for me. He forgave Michael Harris,” said Snoop Dogg, 52.

Harris is a co-founder of Snoop Dogg’s first label, Death Row Records, and was imprisoned for drug dealing and attempted murder, according to the New York Times. Trump pardoned Harris in January 2021.

“So I have nothing but love and respect for Donald Trump,” Snoop Dogg added.

It was a surprising thing to say. Snoop Dogg has been much less complimentary of Trump in the past. Snoop Dogg was one of the celebrities who publicly disowned Trump after he became president in 2016.

That November, Snoop Dogg excitedly told his followers of his plans to move to Canada because of Trump. Four months later, Snoop Dogg shared the music video for his song “Lavender”, which featured a clown named Ronald Klump who shared similar characteristics to Trump.

Trump responded to Snoop Dog on X, then known as Twitter, to criticize the music video.

“Can you imagine what the outcry would be if @SnoopDogg, with his failed career and all, had aimed and fired the gun at President Obama? Prison time!” Trump wrote.

In November 2017, Snoop Dogg took it a step further by releasing the cover of his EP, “Make America Crip Again.” The image showed a dead body labeled “Trump.” according to The Hill.

Then Trump forgave Snoop’s friend and his feelings seemed to soften.

“I love what they did,” Snoop Dogg told the New York Post in January 2021. “It’s a great job for the president and his team on the way out.”
