Now, Snoop Dogg has delivered what is perhaps a bigger surprise. in a interview with the Sunday Times From London, the rapper said he respects the man who “has only done great things for me.”
“He hasn’t done anything bad to me. He has only done great things for me. He forgave Michael Harris,” Snoop Dogg said.
Harris is a co-founder of Snoop Dogg’s first label, Death Row Records. He was jailed for drug trafficking and attempted murder, according to The New York Times. Trump pardoned Harris in January 2021.
“So I have nothing but love and respect for Donald Trump,” Snoop Dogg said.
Things have been much less civil between Trump and Snoop in the past.
Snoop Dogg was among those who disavowed Trump after he became president in 2016.
Snoop Dogg told his followers about his plans to move to Canada because of Trump (spoiler alert: he didn’t). Four months later, Snoop’s Lavender music video was released, which featured a clown named Ronald Klump.
Then in November 2017, Snoop Dogg released the cover art for his EP, Bring America to a standstill again. The image showed a dead body labeled “Trump.”
Signs of a thaw in relations came in January 2021, when Trump pardoned Harris.
“I love what they did,” Snoop Dogg told the New York Post. “It’s a great job for the president and his team at the exit.”
