When Sofia Richie Grainge got married last April, it was the wedding heard around the world. There was the debut of her TikTok a few days before walking down the aisle, her last dress in Chanel and, of course, the main event: her wedding at the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc. (Was that either It was not so? quiet luxury?) There, she and record executive Elliot Grainge said their vows in front of friends and family that included her father Lionel Richie, her sister Nicole Richie and her husband Joel Madden, as well as Benji Madden, Cameron Diaz and Paris Hilton.

However, in the nine months since then, the bride who has undoubtedly launched more than a few private Pinterest boards has been busy. She has been on the David Yurman campaign, the Prada Beauty partnership and more than a few magazine covers. But perhaps the biggest collaboration to date is the one she’s kept a secret for months: Sofia Richie Grainge is pregnant, and she’s thrilled about it.

“I discovered it very, very early,” says Richie Grainge Fashion exclusively. “She was about four weeks pregnant. She was traveling to Milan for fashion week and was going to the Prada show. She was making a very quick change in 24 hours and I felt terrible, but I didn’t think much of it. “I thought it was jet lag.”

When she returned to Los Angeles, she initially planned to go to the Ed Sheeran concert with her husband and friends the next day. “I knew it was going to be a drunken night, I was a few days late on my period and I wanted to be generally safe, so I took a test,” she remembers. “Elliot was already used to me doing random tests.” The two had been casually trying it since they got married in April. “So he didn’t really flinch when I told him he was checking. He was doing one of those really crappy home tests and there was a very faint line. She was so used to seeing negative things that she knew when something seemed even a little different.”

She quickly told Elliot to get in her car and go to CVS to buy three more pregnancy tests of the best she could find. “He was very excited,” recalls Richie Grainge. “We talked the whole way on the phone. And when he came home, he’s such a sweet guy who always wants to protect my emotions and expectations, so he sat me down and said, ‘If they’re negative, don’t get angry.’ Our time will come.’ When we delivered all three tests at the same time, they were all positive. He was very emotional and we both cried. It was crazy, overwhelming and very difficult not to shout it from the rooftops. But knowing that I had arrived so early, I was very protective, even with my friends.”
