Sofia Richie and Elliot Grainge are going to be parents.
The model revealed to Vogue in Thursday that she is pregnant with the couple’s first baby, a girl.
Richie, who is about six months pregnant, told the magazine that she kept the news a secret to “protect” her space.
“Pregnancy is very scary,” she explained. “I didn’t realize that there are so many milestones you have to reach and so many tests you have to take. “For me it was very important to protect our mental health and our space as a couple.”
Richie said both she and Grainge were surprised to find out they were having a daughter.
“We both really thought it was a boy, so it was a real shock,” the 25-year-old recalls. “However, my dream in life is to have a daughter, and Elliot is also very excited to have a girl.”
The model has kept her bump covered in oversized coats and bulky sweaters, but she’s hoping to have some fun with her wardrobe now that the news is out.
“Now that we announced it, I have a lot of ideas,” he said, adding, “I’m about to have some fun now that I can spread my wings and fly.”
Richie and Grainge, 30, went public with their relationship in early 2021.
The couple “started off as friends,” says the fashion designer. explained to who what uses in an August interview.
“When we started being romantic, he gave me a different feeling,” Lionel Richie’s daughter recalled. “It was a feeling of security. It was the feeling of being truly appreciated. When we started dating I knew he was my husband.”
The music executive got down on one knee in April 2022, and the fashion designer unveiled her engagement ring via Instagram.
“Forever is not enough”, Sofia he gushed in his celebratory post.
The duo walked down the aisle a year later and tied the knot in France with Paris Hilton, Cameron Diaz and more A-list guests.
The bride surprised at the April ceremony with a custom Chanel dress.
Prior to Sofia’s relationship with Grainge, she often made headlines for her three-year romance with “Kardashians” star Scott Disick.
Sofia was frequently photographed with Disick and Kourtney Kardashian’s three children, Mason, Penelope and Reign, before she and the Talentless creator called it quits in 2020.

While her father, Lionel Richie, 74, expressed reservations about Sofia’s connection to Disick when they were together, the “American Idol” judge recently he told Access Hollywood that Grainge has their seal of approval.
“I love Elliot,” Lionel said in April. “I’ve known him since he was 12… It was one of those things where I don’t have to go back and see the kid. I know who is”.
Still, Lionel felt like Elliot “was going to faint” when he called to ask the “All Night Long” singer for Sofia’s hand.
“I thought he was going to faint, but he survived,” Lionel joked. “They are deeply in love, so all I can say is that’s what you really want as a father.”
