Sofia Vergara tells Kelly Clarkson to ‘shut up’ over ‘Griselda’ comments

Sofia Vergara spent a lot of time in the makeup chair transforming into her role as the cocaine lord in “Griselda,” and she believes any suggestion is totally despicable.

On Wednesday’s episode of “The Kelly Clarkson” Vergara bristled when Clarkson suggested that the makeup and prosthetics she used to play famed Colombian drug lord Griselda Blanco in her new Netflix miniseries seemed subtle.

“I feel like they just changed your nose or something,” Clarkson told the “Modern Family” alum.

“You’re crazy?” Vergara replied, surprised.

“It seems mild. You know what I’m talking? When you look at it, it doesn’t look like…” Clarkson continued. But Vergara did not agree.

“No, Kelly, it was hours,” Vergara said of the time she spent in the makeup chair.

Clarkson continued to stutter, nervously trying to explain herself by admitting that her makeup “probably took a while,” but the “slight change completely changed who she was.”

“It was a wig!” Vergara jokingly said before telling Clarkson to “shut up” so she could explain all the adjustments made to her physical appearance for the character.

“It was too much! They did a lot to me! It was the teeth. It was a wig, it was a nose. It was plastic (all over my face),” the “America’s Got Talent” judge said.

Clarkson quickly changed his tune.

“What I’m saying, though,” Clarkson said, “they did such a good job that it seems perfect.”

“You literally look like a different actress, playing the role. “You could have a completely different life like this actress.”

Vergara seemed to appreciate the statement.

“That’s exactly what I wanted: that reaction,” Vergara said. “I loved that you thought she was just a little thing because that means she seems natural.”

Vergara then explained why she got a little touchy about her appearance in “Griselda.” She said she was “worried” because people wouldn’t take her seriously in a dramatic role if she looked too much like her or her comic character on “Modern Family.”

“I thought, ‘Are you going to see Gloria Pritchett in Griselda?’” he said. “I mean, did you see it?”

“I don’t see you in this character at all,” Clarkson said.

Although Vergara’s character in “Griselda” doesn’t look much like the real-life queen (above), it’s understandable why Vergara wanted to physically transform to play. the godmotheror the Godmother, in her new Netflix series.

Blanco was accused of plotting at least 40 homicides from Miami to New York during her reign in the 1970s and early ’80s. This included the murder of a 2-year-old boy in 1982, an act she allegedly boasted about, according to the Miami new times.

Despite her ruthless nature that eventually earned her the nickname “The Black Widow”, she was also known for her wit. She built a billion-dollar criminal organization with clever inventions, such as her underwear line with secret compartments that hid drugs, allowing her smugglers to transport cocaine to the United States by taking commercial airline flights.
