WWE taped the February 20 episode of NXT alongside its regular live broadcast last night (February 13) at its Performance Center in Orlando. This was reportedly done because some key people will be in or on their way to Australia next week for testing ahead of the big event. Elimination chamber premium live main roster event in Perth on February 24.
This is at least some of what we’ll see next Tuesday on USA Network, courtesy of spoilers for PWInsider:
• Oba Femi definition Lexis King by pinfall after a pop-up powerbomb, retaining the North American championship. Mr. Stone appeared mid-match and was eliminated by King.
• Roxana Perez definition Wren Sinclair by submission with a crossface.
• jose briggs finish Brooks Jensen via pinfall after a pair of lariats. Both men were said to be legitimately bloodied during the match, and at least a little emotional after the match.
• The new NXT Tag Team Champions, Bron Breakker and Baron Corbin, had a segment in the ring with the Dusty Cup. The Wolf Dogs teased each other a bit before being interrupted by Andre Chase and Duke Hudson, who said that Tony D’ The previous champions Angelo & Stacks owed them a rematch, so they wanted a chance against the new champions. Nathan Frazer and Axiom came out to push for a title shot, and Breakker said it sounded like something they needed to figure out. NXT General Manager Ava appeared to announce a match with the #1 contender for later in the show.
• jacy jayne finish Arianna Grace via pinfall after a discus forearm. Jayne came out with her fellow Chase U students, Thea Hail and Jazmyn Nix, and encouraged them to attack Grace when she was outside the ring. Hail hesitated, but Nix nailed Grace with a forearm and rolled her in to set up her finisher. Nix and Jayne celebrated afterwards while Hail looked unhappy.
• André Chase and Duke Hudson definition Nathan Frazer & Axiom via pinfall (Chase on Frazer as the end of a series of pinfall attempts) to become number one contenders for the tag team titles. After the game, the two teams (and Chase U’s Riley Osborne) were attacked by Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows. The Good Brothers then posed in the ring before leaving.
• tab legend definition Kelani Jordan via pinfall after a powerbomb and a distraction from Jakara Jackson. Kiana James and Izzi Dame appeared with bad intentions for Jordan, but she managed to escape.
• The women’s title match between Lyra Valkyria and Shotzi was stopped due to Shotzi’s injury. More about that here. Ava announced an open challenge, which was answered by Legend.
• Lyra Valkria finish Lash Legend via pinfall after a top rope jump to retain her NXT Women’s Championship.
