Last month, Stardew Valley creator Eric ‘ConcernedApe’ Barone mentioned how he’s finally finished adding “major new content” for the next update.

Now, to commemorate the game’s eighth anniversary, it has finally set a release date for version 1.6. It will arrive next month March 19, 2024but the problem is that this date only applies to the PC version.

Barone notes that the “console and mobile” versions of this update will follow “as soon as possible”:

Stardew Valley’s creator previously admitted that version 1.6 ended up being “a little bit bigger in scope than originally planned,” which is why it took so long.

In this time, it added a new major festival, two new mini-festivals, new late-game content, new items, new crafting recipes, winter outfits for villagers, a new farm type, new secrets, and much more.

The same update revealed that more than 30 million copies of Stardew Valley had been sold worldwide, and ConcernedApe also noted that an official cookbook is “coming soon” and that the global concert is currently underway.
