Stephen Colbert Challenged CBS Showing Kristen Stewart Magazine Cover: “I Don’t Understand Why”

Kristen Stewart has a clear message for haters through a magazine cover that generates a stir on social media.

Colbert brought up the cover that generated a lot of buzz on social media and revealed that CBS had banned him from showing it on the late-night show.

“I just want you and the audience to know that I think it’s a perfectly lovely cover,” Colbert told Stewart. “CBS asked us not to show it. “They thought it wouldn’t be a good idea for us to show this and I don’t understand why.”

Stewart appears on the magazine’s cover braless, wearing a leather vest and posing with her right hand in her jockstrap.

After cheers and applause from the audience upon seeing the cover, Colbert said, “I mean you look better in a jockstrap than I do.”

The CBS host said the cover upset a lot of people and read a post from readers.”

“Oh my gosh, that’s scary,” Stewart reacted to the post.

After being asked why he thought people had a hard time with the cover, he said, “Okay, let’s keep this light. I think it’s a little ironic because I feel like I’ve seen a lot of male pubic hair on the cover of things; I’ve seen a lot of hands in pants… I think there is a certain open recognition of female sexuality that has its own will and that is annoying to sexist and homophobic people.

Colbert said that some people might feel that Stewart’s cover “violates expectations of female sexuality,” to which Stewart added, “Yeah, because female sexuality is supposed to really want nothing more than to be had and that’s It feels like it sticks out in a way that may be annoying, but fuck you.”
