The AEW Zero Hour pre-show has given fans a taste of how tonight’s massive Revolution PPV at Greensboro Coliseum will play out, with a controversial decision regarding Sting’s retirement match.

According to the pre-show, Sting’s retirement match, which will see him team up with Darby Allin to defend his AEW World Tag Team Championship against The Young Bucks’ Matt and Nick Jackson, will not be the main event of tonight’s show. The three-way match for the AEW World Championship between Hangman Page, Swerve Strickland and current champion Samoa Joe will reportedly close the show.

Sting, who initially retired after a neck injury in 2015, returned to active competition in 2021 when he began teaming with former AEW TNT Champion Darby Allin. Sting announced his retirement late last year scheduled for tonight at the famed Greensboro Coliseum, an NWA stronghold that hosted some of Sting’s biggest matches. Sting and Allin won the AEW World Tag Team Championship earlier this year.
