Harsha Chemudu, popularly known as Viva Harsha, made his debut as a lead actor in the movie Sundaram Master, which released in theaters today. Read the review to find out what he is like.

History:

In the remote village of Miryalametta, Sundar Rao (Harsha Chemudu) arrives as an English teacher with a mysterious mission beyond teaching English. How do the English-speaking villagers treat him? Will he succeed in his mission? What happens finally? These are the mysteries that one would have to watch the movie to discover.

Plus Points:

Harsha Chemudu shines in his first lead role, delivering a performance full of witty banter and expressive acting, reminiscent of his previous work.

The humorous interactions between Harsha and the villagers are well executed and show the innocence of their characters, especially in the second half.

Balakrishna Neelakantapu and the rest of the cast deliver commendable performances that effectively engage the audience.

Bad points:

While the simplicity of the story is understandable, the director could have kept the narrative faster and more gripping, especially in the second half, to keep the audience’s interest.

The first half of the film captivates with its comic charm, but the second half, at a snail’s pace, struggles to maintain the same level of humor. Unfortunately, the emotional scenes in the latter part suffer from shortcomings in execution.

Furthermore, the characters of Divya Sripada and Harsha Vardhan lack a substantial impact on the overall narrative.

Also, certain scenes, like the climax where Harsha Chemudu convinces Harsha Vardhan, look unnatural and could have been executed better.

Technical aspects:

Writer-director Kalyan Santhosh’s efforts to entertain the audience are evident, but a more substantial story and script could have improved the film’s overall appeal.

While Sricharan Pakala’s music and Deepak Yeragera’s cinematography meet satisfactory standards, Karthik Vunnava’s editing is perfect. The art department’s laudable work deserves recognition and the production values are decent.

Verdict:

Overall, Sundaram Master remains a good comedy-drama experience, buoyed by Harsha Chemudu’s decent acting and comedy scenes. However, the film’s thin plot, slow and weak script, and lack of strong emotional depth in the second half present major obstacles. It may be wise to consider alternative entertainment options this weekend.
