Sydney Sweeney surprised her grandmothers with roles in her horror movie

Sydney Sweeney revealed that she chose two very special people in her life to join her on screen in her upcoming horror film. Immaculate: their grandmothers.


“I took my grandmothers on a plane,” Sweeney confirmed on Tuesday’s episode of tonight’s show. “They had never been to Europe. “My grandfather’s dream was to go to Italy, she had never left the country before, so I surprised them, flew them there and let them be extras in the movie.”

He Euphoria The actress, who produced and stars in the film, revealed that her grandmothers play a pair of “little nuns” who reside in the same Italian convent as her character Cecilia. However, over the course of the film, Cecilia discovers that there is a darker side to her new home when she suddenly becomes pregnant by unknown forces.


Host Jimmy Fallon later revealed that Sweeney sent “a ton” of photos of her grandmothers on set to be revealed on the show, but that one “stood out” in particular. He then showed a picture of one of Sweeney’s grandmothers posing in her traditional dress while she enjoyed a smoke break.


“I just thought it was real,” he said with a laugh. “I thought it was a real picture.”


“This is my grandfather,” Sweeney explained, pointing to the photo. “She’s iconic and she needed a smoke break between takes, so we went out and I had to capture how amazing she looked.”



When not spending time with her grandmothers on set, Sweeney said she could also be found hiding some candy in her fake pregnant belly for the movie, adding, “I ate Sour Patch Kids! Yeah, just a little snack.”
