Taylor Swift is among thousands of people who have posted donations on GoFundMe for the family of Lisa López-Galván, the radio DJ and mother of two who died in the mass shooting at the Kansas City Chiefs victory parade on Wednesday.
The attack in the middle of the Valentine’s Day celebration in Kansas City, Missouri, by the Super Bowl LVIII champions left 22 people injured, ranging in age from 8 to 47 years old.
The GoFundMe page, Elizabeth López-Galván MemorialLópez-Galván said “he was celebrating the Chiefs’ victory parade in the Super Bowl when he was senselessly killed. She is survived by two children and her husband of 22 years. She was an incredible mother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend to many people. We ask that you continue to keep her family in your prayers as we mourn the loss of her life.”
The fund will help provide “vital financial support to his family as they process this unthinkable tragedy. Any amount is appreciated.”
Among the donations, which at the time this story was published were approaching $200,000, were two breakup donations from megastar Swift, who has made headlines for supporting her Kansas City Chiefs tight end boyfriend, Travis Kelce, this season, including in Sunday’s Super Bowl.
Swift made two donations, each worth $50,000, and wrote: “I send you my deepest condolences and condolences following your devastating loss. Love, Taylor Swift.”
The Hollywood Reporter confirmed the donations.
López Galván died during surgery after suffering a gunshot wound to the abdomen. He Kansas City Star reported. A statement from her employer, KKFI 90.1 FM, read: “It is with sincere sadness and an extremely heavy and broken heart that we inform our community that KKFI DJ Lisa Lopez, host of Texan flavor He lost his life today in the shooting at the KC Chiefs rally. Our hearts and prayers go out to his family. We encourage anyone who feels he saw something to contact authorities at 816 234 5111. This senseless act has taken a beautiful person from his family and this KC community.”
Kelce was among the Chiefs players who attended the parade. All players, coaches and staff were safe and accounted for after the shooting. After the attack, Kelce said on social media that he was “heartbroken” by what happened. “KC, you mean the world to me,” he said. published in X.
However, the tight end has received criticism after photos circulated of Kelce, along with several teammates, including Patrick Mahomes and his wife Brittany, celebrating at a bar after the parade attack. Swift was not present at the show, as she was in Australia for her Tour of Eras.
Swift recently announced a new album, The Department of Tortured Poetsduring the 2024 Grammys. On Friday he revealed a bonus track for the long-awaited album, “The Bolter.” The full album is out April 19.
