Kailyn Lowry has revealed the names of her newborn twins after welcoming them prematurely last year.
The Teen Mom 2 alum, 31, who is now a mother of seven, took to TikTok to reveal that her son and daughter are named Valley and Verse.
She shared a sweet video of the twins showing them settling in at home with their siblings with the caption: “Complete.” Whole. Everybody is here.’
The star opened up about the twins’ premature birth on the latest episode of her Barely Famous podcast.
The babies, who she shares with her boyfriend Elijah Scott, were born five weeks early and spent weeks in the NICU.
‘Elijah and I talk about the twins’ trip to the NICU in today’s episode. Months later, I’m still crying talking about it,’ he captioned the publication, which went to a short video clip of the episode.
Lowry, who had her tubes tied after the birth of the twins, revealed that the couple was unable to hold their babies until more than 24 hours after their birth, while they settled into the NICU.
‘They weren’t just there for a couple of days. We were there for a couple of weeks and we learned a lot about the families that are there, and some of them were there for months and months,’ Lowry shared.
Kailyn also shared some of the issues her twins faced in the NICU, particularly her little girl, who she refers to as Baby B.
‘I have never seen a baby in my life who didn’t wake up to eat or show signs of hunger. She would just sleep while she breastfed,” she explained.
“She never had any signs of feeding and when I tried to feed her, she wouldn’t accept the bottle.”
She continued, “And that was really hard because I look at him and I see that he’s in the NICU for some of the same reasons, but he’s also taking a bottle, and he doesn’t have a problem with that.” And then she was sleeping all the time,’ she said as she cried.
‘I cried a lot. I probably cried more during the trip to the NICU than I did during the C-section,” she said.
Her newborn son, whom she calls Baby B, had to go home first and Kailyn explained that made things even more difficult since she and Elijah couldn’t go to the hospital to see Baby B together, one had to be at home to take care of him. Baby A and the other five children.
One day, while visiting the NICU, he collapsed from stress. A doctor asked her if she needed to talk to someone, such as a therapist.
‘I said I have my own therapist, but I’m away from my baby, and my baby is away from his twin. And I feel like that alone was enough to cry about,” she said.
“To me, you couldn’t be with me in the NICU when I went,” she told Scott.
‘She was far from her twin; We were far from her. When we were at home, we still couldn’t process it because there was so much going on here. Lincoln still had his basketball games and practices. Isaac still had his after school things. “Lux still had what she was doing,” she continued.
‘I still don’t even know if we’ve processed it. I don’t think I’ve processed it to this day. We went to the pediatrician yesterday and I’m still very worried about a lot of things,” Lowry added.
Kailyn’s twins join her 14-month-old son Rio, who she also shares with Scott, three-and-a-half-year-old Creed, and six-and-a-half-year-old Lux with her ex Chris Lopez, her 10-year-old son Lincoln with ex Javi Marroquín and son Isaac, 14, with ex Jo Rivera.
