With the Steam Spring Sale 2024 In full bloom, trying to find your next favorite game can be a pretty daunting task. There are huge discounts and deals galore, with savings on many big titles, including older classic PC games and new releases, including some of last year’s best games. Luckily, here at PCGamesN we’ve put our heads together and created some of our top picks for you to check out.
The Steam Spring Sale is packed with huge discounts on many of the best PC games of all time, so it can feel a bit complicated to choose. Valve now has some nice filtering tools, like its genre tagging system, to help sort through Steam’s vast library, but I’ve got a list for you here that includes some newer big titles and some heavily discounted options that could be that’s all. Perfect game for rainy days.

Cyberpunk 2077 (50% off)
Cyberpunk 2077 had a notoriously rough launch, but developer CD Projekt Red continued to revise and polish its impressive open-world game with all sorts of updates, tweaks, and new features. Not only did we get the comprehensive Patch 2.0 overhaul, but it was then followed by the massive Patch 2.1, which includes a full Night City Metro, street racing, bike stunts, and much more. Add in the fantastic Phantom Liberty DLC, also sold individually or in a bundle, and if you’ve been waiting for the moment, now is the right time to play Cyberpunk 2077.
Sea of Stars (22% discount)
Sea of Stars is not only one of the best RPGs of 2023, it could be one of the best of all time. With its cast of charming characters, gorgeous art direction that blends classic aesthetics with modern technology, and systems that feel thoughtful and satisfying every step of the way, Sea of Stars manages to live up to the task as a worthy successor to the legacy of its clearest inspiration in Chrono Trigger, and that’s the highest praise I can give.
Turbo Overkill (30% off)
Speed. Force. Violence. In 2023, Turbo Overkill was released in full, a magnificent ballet of bullets, blood and explosions. Inspired by developer Apogee’s Doom, Quake, and Duke Nukem 3D classics, Turbo Overkill lets you fly through the streets of your cyberpunk city demolishing enemies at breakneck speed. Wall run, car surf, or slide into your enemies with the chainsaw legs first (yes, you read that right) in one of the best boomer shooters to ever come to Steam.
Ultros (20% discount)
If vibrant colors are your thing, one look at the psychedelic game Metroidvania Ultros should be enough to catch your attention. Managing to achieve the difficult balance of throwing a transparent wall of bold rainbow saturation into your eyes while maintaining visual clarity is quite a feat. Its unique progression system, where each boss causes a soft reset of your world, really starts to shine as you explore more of the cosmic sarcophagus you’re trapped in.
Children of the Forest (25% discount)
Nearly a year after its Early Access release, Sons of the Forest 1.0 arrived in February, bringing with it the conclusion of its central narrative, along with the ability to assemble the pieces of a mysterious artifact to powerful effects. If you played the survival game during early access or have been waiting for the full release to play with friends, now is the perfect time to do so.
Cocoon (30% off)
Another of 2023’s highlights, Cocoon is a masterful puzzle game from Limbo and Inside’s lead game designer Jeppe Carlsen. As with all puzzles, saying too much would probably ruin it, but the bottom line is that you’re exploring a series of worlds, each of which exists on a separate orb that you can transport around. This allows you to manipulate and combine the various orbs and each of their distinctive features to unlock areas in other worlds. Cocoon is one of those enchanting experiences that has just the right level of challenge and its beautiful art will keep you fascinated from start to finish.
Old World (30% off)
It’s been a long time since Civilization 6 came out and there’s still no word on a release date for Civilization 7. If that makes you want a new place to explore, expand, exploit and exterminate, then the landmark game is worth checking out. 4X Old World. Coming from the mind of Civ 4 lead designer Soren Johnson, Old World integrates more character-driven storytelling in the vein of Crusader Kings 3, and you can even get its four expansion packs cheaply along with it right now.
Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun (90% off)
2023 saw the release of the phenomenal Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew, the third and final of the outstanding strategy games brought to us by developer Mimimi Games, which announced its closure alongside the release of the Shadow Gambit modding tools. If you haven’t yet experienced Mimimi’s bold revitalization of the hardcore tactical stealth format pioneered by classics like Commandos, you can get the fantastic first entry, Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun for next to nothing.
Lost at random (90% off)
Also falling into the “too cheap to pass up” segment is Lost in Random, the delightfully bleak fairy tale action-adventure game about a world where the fate of each citizen is determined by a roll of the dice. This influences everything from the narrative to the combat, where you build a set of skills that you can activate in battle by rolling your own dice, and with such a huge discount, I would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a short but satisfying game. fantasy game
Hades (50% discount)
The Hades 2 release date is set to bring us one of the most exciting sequels in early access very soon, with developer Supergiant Games planning to release it in the second quarter of 2024. Before that, you’ll probably want to catch up. the first, which is one of the best roguelike games ever created. With its charming cast of characters and difficulty scaling that makes it accessible to newcomers with a near-infinite difficulty curve at the end for those who want it, Hades is a must-play, so pick it up.
