A funny video has gone viral on social media showing a fielding error by a player during a cricket match. The video was of the European Cricket League match between the Independent Cricket Club and Donaustadt. Opting to bat first, Donaustad posted 147/4 in 10 overs. Later, they restricted CC Independiente to 133/5 and claimed victory by 14 runs. However, a funny fielding error by a Donaustad player, which gave the rivals a boundary, became the highlight of the match.

The incident took place in the first over of Independiente’s chase after a bowler bowled a ball wide, which went between the keeper’s legs, but a defender showed his best effort and stopped it just short of the boundary line. “Craziest cricket,” said the commentator.

In the process he even crossed the advertising billboards that were placed outside the boundary. However, all his efforts were in vain as the moment he stood up and picked up the ball, he collided with the goalkeeper. As a result, the ball fell from the defender’s hands and crossed the boundary line.

Talking about cricket, the 17th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will begin from March 22 with Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore facing off in the opening match.

According to a report in the Indian Timessome BCCI officials are in the UAE to explore the possibility of shifting the second half of the IPL to the Gulf country.

The decision could be taken as the general election dates could coincide with the second half of the IPL. The Election Commission is expected to announce the election date on Saturday, March 16.

“The Election Commission of India will announce the election schedule on Saturday at 3 pm. After that, the BCCI will decide whether to move to Dubai. Currently, some senior officials of the BCCI are in Dubai to explore the possibility of organizing the second half of the IPL in Dubai,” TOI quoted a BCCI official as saying.
