A funeral mass was held Saturday for Lisa López-Galván, the 43-year-old Kansas City DJ, wife and mother, who died in the mass shooting at the Chiefs’ Super Bowl parade and rally on Feb. 14.
Via Associated Press, hundreds of mourners attended 90 minute service.
Two men have been charged in connection with his death. Two minors also face charges in the incident that left more than 20 injured.
López-Galván wore kicker Harrison Butker’s jersey to the parade and rally. the bosses provided another for his family.
Taylor Swift, who is dating Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, gave $100,000 to a fund established for the family of Lisa López-Galván. Almost $400,000 has been elevated.
The crime has raised questions about the challenges inherent in properly securing NFL-related events that do not take place inside a stadium. Detroit and NFL officials have expressed confidence that the 2024 draft, to be published in April, will be safe for all who attend.
