North Carolina State Basketball is in a position that few would have imagined it would be in just a week ago.
Now is the time for the Wolfpack to try and make the most of the opportunity.

After earning the conference’s automatic bid by virtue of its ACC Tournament championship, NC State will begin its 2024 NCAA Tournament experience as the No. 11 seed with a first-round game against No. 6 seed Texas Tech at PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh.
Whatever NCAA Tournament hopes the Wolfpack carried with them into February seemed dead at the end of the regular season. They lost seven of their last nine games leading up to the ACC Tournament, dropping their record to 17-14 and raising questions about coach Kevin Keatts’ future with the proud program, complaints that only grew louder after his team fell behind last place, Louisville. who fired coach Kenny Payne less than 24 hours after the game ended, at halftime of their ACC Tournament first-round game. However, NC State bounced back and earned what would be the first of five wins in a five-day span, capped off with an 84-76 victory against rival North Carolina in the ACC Tournament Championship Game last Saturday.

With that run, the Wolfpack earned their second consecutive berth in the NCAA Tournament, the first time they have accomplished that feat since 2014 and 2015. It could be a good sign for them as they prepare to face Texas Tech. In 2015, the second Of those consecutive tournament appearances, an NC State team traveled to Pittsburgh, where it won two games to advance to the Sweet 16, a pair of victories that included a second-round win against No. 1 seed Villanova.
Whether history repeats itself will depend on how they perform against the Red Raiders, who enter the game with a 23-10 record under first-year head coach Grant McCasland. That mark included an 11-7 mark in Big 12 play this season, a solid record in what was widely considered the best conference in college basketball.

What channel is NC State vs. Texas Tech today?
The Wolfpack and Red Raiders will face off in a game broadcast on CBS. Andrew Catalon (play-by-play) and Steve Lappas (analyst) will be on the call, with Evan Washburn serving as sideline reporter.

NC State and Texas Tech will kick off Thursday at 9:40 p.m. ET from PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, although that start time could be affected if the previous game, Kentucky vs. Oakland, it drags on.
