TKO continues to distance himself from Vince McMahon

While speaking in a conference on technology, media and telecommunications In San Francisco, hosted by Wall Street firm Morgan Stanley today (March 6), TKO president Mark Shapiro again reminded investors that Vince McMahon is no longer involved with WWE’s parent company in any capacity. McMahon resigned from all of his roles in TKO and WWE after being accused of sexual abuse and manipulation in a lawsuit filed by former WWE employee Janel Grant in late January.

Shapiro brought up McMahon’s sale of more than $400 million in TKO stock earlier this week to make it clear that his former CEO is gone for good:

“We were not involved in the recent sale… We are not in talks with him. We don’t know his motives, his plans or his schedule. He doesn’t work for the company, he doesn’t come to the office and he won’t return to the company. And that’s where we sit.”

During TKO’s investor call last week, Shapiro said the company had not been in contact with McMahon about his involvement in the company. This statement goes a little further to make it clear that they do not plan to re-engage with McMahon even though he still owns approximately 8.5% of all TKO shares after this week’s stock sale and further last November.
