‘Poison: Let there be slaughter’

The latest installment of Tom Hardy from Columbia Pictures Poison The franchise now has an official title and an earlier release date.
Director Kelly Marcel Venom: The Last Dance hits theaters on October 25, Sony announced Tuesday. Starring Hardy, Juno Temple and Chiwetel Ejiofor, the film was untitled and moves up two weeks from its previous release date of November 8.
In addition to directing the film, Marcel also wrote the screenplay, and the story is credited to her and Hardy. Hardy, Marcel, Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, Amy Pascal and Hutch Parker are producers.
Hardy returns as the Marvel antagonist he originated in the 2018 film directed by Ruben Fleischer. Poison. Andy Serkis took over directing duties on the 2021 sequel Venom: Let there be slaughter. Marcel is making her directorial debut after earning writing credits on the previous two films.
This will now be the third Poison The film will hit theaters in October, and the lead-up to Halloween has worked very well for the franchise. The first film surpassed $850 million worldwide, while the sequel surpassed the $500 million mark worldwide.
Hardy took to Instagram in November to announce that the film, billed as the last in the series, had resumed production after taking a break due to last year’s actors’ strike. The project had initially been planned for launch in June 2024, but was later moved to November due to the work stoppage.
In his November post, Hardy referred to the film as the “last dance” and added that the work “doesn’t feel so hard when you love what you do and when you know you have great material and support from all sides, from a great team”.
Venom: The Last Dance is the latest title in Sony Pictures’ Marvel Universe of Characters. It follows Sony’s release of lady webstarring Dakota Johnson and Sydney Sweeney and has underperformed since it hit theaters last month.
