Travis Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs teammate Drue Tranquill thinks the NFL star and Taylor Swift “might be in love.”
Swift and Kelce went public with their relationship in late September when the singer went to Arrowhead Stadium for the first time to cheer on Kelce and the Chiefs against the Chicago Bears.
Since then, she has attended 11 Chiefs games and met his parents along the way. Last Sunday he met his brother Jason for the first time, while Travis traveled to Argentina on his November break to see his Eras Show in South America.
Now, with the Chiefs one victory away from the Super Bowl, albeit with the Baltimore Ravens between them and Las Vegas, Tranquill was asked about the added attention to the team this season.
“It’s interesting,” Tranquill said. “You don’t really feel it or hear it too much inside the locker room. But they will be moments like in practice when our DJ plays a Taylor Swift song and everyone jokes about it.
“I hear more about it when I get home than when I’m in the building.
But it’s been fun, man. That’s something to celebrate, something fun and we enjoy making fun of Travis. But it looks like maybe they’re in love, man.
“They really have something to do and we enjoy having them at our games.” He brings a lot of energy and a lot of fun to our fans. And that’s good for business, good for football and good for the NFL.”
Tranquill, speaking on the Zach Gelb show, was then asked if she hoped to go to the wedding.
‘We’ll see man, we’ll see. “There will be a lot of people who will want to go to that wedding,” he said.
Linebacker Tranquill, 28, joined the Chiefs in 2023 after four years with the Chargers and he and his team head to Baltimore for Sunday’s game with Kelce in top form.
He scored two touchdowns in Sunday’s thrilling 27-24 victory over the Bills and, in the process, combined with Patrick Mahomes to break a record set by Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski.
Sunday’s two touchdowns mean the Chiefs stars have the most postseason touchdowns by a quarterback-receiver duo in NFL history with a total of 16, one more than Brady and Gronk.
‘CATTLE. “When you win, you’re doing something right,” Brady wrote on X in response to a graphic acknowledging Mahomes and Kelce’s feat.
If the Chiefs win this weekend, they will play either the San Francisco 49ers or the Detroit Lions in the Super Bowl at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on February 11.
And if Kansas City is there, Swift faces a hectic return trip from Japan to get to the game. Her first dates of the 2024 Eras tour are in Tokyo that week, and her last show is scheduled for Saturday night in Japan.
