It will be the first use of the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 to finance a film.
“Hollywood is risky, right? On a scale of one to 10, Hollywood is a 9.5,” producer Ray Maiello said, via Siegel. “Especially in terms of independent film. These federal tax credits reduce the risk to five.”
It is still a risk. Having Kelce’s name attached to the film will increase the potential payoff, especially if Chiefs fans and fans of Kelce’s girlfriend, Taylor Swift, decide to see it.
