While Taylor Swift has been in the stands to cheer on her boyfriend Travis Kelce at many of his football games this year, she’ll have to feel his support from afar Sunday night at the 2024 Grammy Awards. During an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show On Wednesday, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end confirmed he would not be able to attend Music’s Biggest Night because Football’s Biggest Night would be held just a week later.
“I wish I could go support Taylor at the Grammys and watch her win every award she’s nominated for, but…unfortunately, I have to get ready for this big Super Bowl, and we have a week,” he said.
While he won’t be able to attend the Grammys due to his soccer practice schedule, the two have been inseparable over the past few months. Kelce opened up about how he’s dealt with the increased media attention since he and Swift went public with their relationship in October.
“It’s exciting for me, but it’s all new, man,” Kelce said of being in a public relationship. “From paparazzi following me to work every day to everyone having my name on their talk shows every day, whether it’s sports or not, you know, it’s been a very, very crazy ride that I could have had. “I never anticipated it.”
“But I’m having fun,” he continued. “Most of the world is having fun with this… Little by little we are incorporating all the cranky NFL fans.”
Kelce and Swift were photographed from every angle possible as they celebrated on the field after the Chiefs defeated the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, winning the AFC Conference Championship and certifying their berth in the Super Bowl.
“Hopefully everyone realizes that we’re just two people in a relationship, supporting each other and having fun, man, it’s nothing more than that,” Kelce said of Swift’s support. “(No matter) how much the world wants to paint the picture and make us enemies, we just have fun with it. And we enjoyed every detail.”
“I love when Taylor comes out, supports me and enjoys the game with my family and friends. It’s been nothing but a wonderful year, man,” he added.
Super Bowl LVIII takes place in Las Vegas on February 11, and Swift’s potential attendance seemed to generate more buzz than the team’s accomplishment itself, but if you ask Kelce, she’s already putting aside the noise to focus. on his big night.
“Everyone in this building knows my intentions. Football is my main goal at the moment. There are many people who count on me in this building, in this city and in this organization. This is my number one approach. “It is in my heart to be able to give everything I have on the field,” he continued. “People can perceive what they want. But I wanted to make sure that the guys, the men and women in this building, knew that I was 100 percent focused on this team and getting it to where we are, where we’re going next week.”
