  • Donald Trump has a history of diving into the Oscars.
  • She also couldn’t resist posting about the show on Sunday.
  • “Really bad politically correct show tonight,” Trump said on Truth Social mail.

It’s safe to say that former President Donald Trump didn’t enjoy this year’s Academy Awards ceremony.

“A really bad politically correct show tonight and for years: disjointed, boring and very unfair,” Trump said of the Oscars in a Truth Social. mail on Sunday.

“Why don’t they just give the Oscars to those who deserve them? Maybe then their viewership and TV ratings will bounce back from the bottom,” he continued.

In addition to diving into the awards, Trump also criticized this year’s host, Jimmy Kimmel.

“Has there EVER been a WORSE PRESENTER than Jimmy Kimmel at the Oscars? His opening was that of a below-average person trying too hard to be something he is not and can never be,” Trump said earlier in his post.

Trump’s scathing criticism of Kimmel and this year’s ceremony did not go unnoticed. The late-night talk show host responded to Trump near the end of the ceremony.

“Thank you, President Trump. Thank you for watching. I’m surprised you’re still… haven’t you spent your time in jail?” Kimmel saying after reading Trump’s Truth Social post.

This is not the first time Trump has criticized the awards ceremony. In 2018, when Trump was still in office, he criticized that year’s ceremony, claiming it was the “lowest-rated Oscars in history.”

“The problem is that we don’t have stars anymore, except for your president (just kidding, of course)!” Triumph wrote in X.

And in 2021, Trump issued a statement where he provided some recommendations on how the Oscars could bolster their ratings.

“Go back 15 years, look at the formula they used then, change the name back to ACADEMY AWARDS, don’t be so politically correct and boring, and do it right. PLUS, BRING BACK A GREAT HOST,” Trump said.

Trump wasn’t the only one to disdain this year’s awards. Billionaire Elon Musk also took to X to criticize the Oscars. The Academy Awards, Musk said, have been “diluted,“And the prize”It no longer inspires respect.

“Winning an Oscar now just means you won the woke contest,” Musk wrote in X on Sunday.

Trump’s representatives did not immediately respond to a Business Insider request for comment sent outside of regular business hours.
