TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) – The Rialto Theater has canceled Matisyahu’s performance.

The theater published in Facebook saying:

“Due to safety concerns and staff shortages, the Rialto Theater is unable to proceed with tonight’s performance of Matisyahu to February 15, 2024. We will always prioritize the safety of our employees and our guests. We are in the process to refund all ticket holders. Sorry for the late cancellation notice.

If you currently have a ticket to the Matisyahu show, please contact the Rialto Theater Box Office at 520-740-1000 or box.office@rialtotheatre.com if you have additional questions or concerns. All tickets purchased will be refunded to your original payment method.”

The artist posted on Instagram that he will play at The Rock for the first 300 people.

We request a statement from Teatro Rialto:

“Let me be very clear about this situation. The decision for Matisyahu not to play tonight was not made because of politics or religion; this decision was made based on security. The temperature of the day changed and the tone was not set by us. This is became a concern for the safety of our customers, our staff and our community. We have hosted Matisyahu at our theater many times, but today was not the day for him to perform. He was paid in full and ticket refunds are available for all ticket holders.”
