Usher returns to Michigan after recent mediocre concert in Detroit

DETROIT – He’s about to perform at halftime Super Bowl. But first, one of the most important musical artists of recent decades has announced a big tour for 2024.

Following his two-year Las Vegas residency, which saw 100 sold-out shows at Dolby Live at Park MGM, the eight-time Grammy winner, Usherwill embark on a nearly 20-city tour with a return to Michigan after a recent lackluster performance in the state.

Usher will be at Little Caesars Arena on Thursday, September 12. Tickets go on sale Monday, February 12 at 10 am. The tour also coincides with the release of their ninth studio album, “Coming Home,” on February 9.

Usher last performed in Michigan at iHeart Radio’s “Jingle Ball” at Little Caesars Arena on December 5, 2023. It was a great concert that also featured Jelly Roll, Big Time Rush, Flo Rida and more. However, Usher didn’t wow the crowd as a headliner, to say the least, performing stripped-down versions of some of his hits for about 35 minutes.

He used a recording looper to create some of the sounds with the help of a keyboardist and a guitarist along with some backing vocalists. The subdued set also saw the superstar asking the crowd too much to sing for him.

This next concert should be different as it will be a bigger and longer production, not scaled down like their “Jingle Ball” set was.
