Vanessa Hudgens is pregnant.
The “High Musical Musical” alum officially announced that she was going to be a new mother when she walked the Oscars red carpet with a very visible baby bump.
Hudgens made her debut in a long-sleeved black dress. With her hair up halfway up, the star blew kisses to photographers on the red carpet. The singer and actor also wore several sparkling diamond pieces, including a stunning necklace, rings and earrings.
This will be the first child together for her and her husband, baseball player Cole Tucker.
The “Spring Breakers” star co-hosts the Academy’s official pre-show with Julianne Hough.
On Wednesday, Hudgens criticized pregnancy speculation that first surfaced in October. “I literally had a run-in with the public taking over her opinion of me in a disrespectful way,” she said on the March 6 episode of the She Pivots podcast. “I went out to my bachelorette party in October and posted a video of myself, and there are all these comments saying, ‘Oh my god, you’re pregnant.’”
She called the comments “very rude” and added: “I’m sorry I don’t wear Spanx every day, I’m a real woman and I have a real body.”
Hudgens and Tucker married in December in an intimate ceremony in Mexico after dating for about three years.
Hudgens said people should be “more aware” of pregnancy speculation: “Don’t make assumptions about all aspects of life, but especially about other women’s bodies.”
