Vishwak Sen’s Gaami will technically have two versions – Deets inside

Vishwak Sen’s Gaami received an A certificate from the censor board, and this created even more excitement among movie buffs. Here is another interesting fact about this adventure drama.

According to the director, Vidhyadhar, there are two technical versions of Gaami. One is the standard 2.39:1 aspect ratio version (the aspect ratio of normal movies) and the other is the 1.90:1 aspect ratio version (similar to images on IMAX digital screen) . The 1.90:1 aspect ratio version will be screened at Prasads PCX, AMB Cinemas and a cinema in Vellore, while the other theaters will screen the film in the usual 2.39:1 aspect ratio.

However, this expanded 1.90:1 ratio will only apply to a few select scenes (a 15-minute sequence). To put it in simpler words, this particular fifteen-minute sequence of Gaami will fill the entire screen of Prasads PCX, while the other scenes will play in a typical ratio of 2.39:1. If we look clearly at the teaser, this was actually communicated as the protagonist’s childhood parts are shown in a larger proportion.

The director said: “I actually want to make the film in a 1:43:1 aspect ratio that fills the entire PCX screen, which is the largest in the country. I couldn’t do it for several reasons. We want to use aspect ratio as a tool. I don’t know if I’m right or not.”
